In March 2010, the (“LCRA”) (one of the largest wholesale power utilities in Texas) contracted Irby to construct the Clear Springs to Hutto Transmission Line. The project scope consisted of 88 miles of 345kV new transmission line construction with approximately 160 circuit miles of bundled conductor on lattice towers and steel poles.

Irby executed the project to schedule with assistance from fellow Quanta Services (PWR:NYSE) subsidiary company , a specialist in the construction of electrical and substation infrastructures including foundations and directional drilling. The project also benefitted from the use of helicopter assisted stringing in preservation of environmental right of way and overall schedule maintenance.

. (“GTC”) is a not-for-profit cooperative owned by 39 (“EMC’s”) in Georgia. Georgia鈥檚 EMC’s collectively provide power to more than four million people in the state. In May 2015, GTC contracted Irby to construct 38.75 miles of 500kV transmission line to connect its substations in Thomson and Warthen.

Energized in May 2017, the Irby scope included the erection of 157 steel towers, concrete foundations (with assistance from ), and several high voltage crossings. The project was delivered 6 months ahead of schedule and without lost time incident.

(“CREZ”) were introduced by the Texas State Legislature in 2005 to alleviate grid congestion and integrate renewable energy resources (primarily wind from rural west Texas) into more heavily populated metropolitan areas (e.g., Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio).

Approximately 2,400 miles of electric transmission line was ordered by the Public Utility Commission of Texas and awarded to 10 CREZ transmission service providers. Irby provided transmission construction services to 5 of those service providers, namely: , ,, , and over a 3 year period.

Employing various Quanta network contracting configurations (Irby is a Quanta Services company (PWR:NYSE)), Irby collectively built approximately 1,000 miles of line, the majority of which was 345 kV, with small portions of 138 kV throughout.

Scope: Constructed and upgraded 200 miles of 34.5kV, 115kV, and 345kV transmission lines in service of a large-scale hydropower project in Maine.
Location: Lewiston, Maine
Client: Central Maine Power

In service of growing power demands in Maine and New England, the Maine Power Reliability Project (“MPRP”) involved the construction and reconstruction of over 350 miles of transmission infrastructure. In December 2010, MPRP owner (“CMP”) awarded Irby a contract to construct the MPRP’s Central Loop work scope.

The Central Loop consisted of 200 miles of installation, modification and/or removal of 345kV and 115kV electric transmission lines. Supported by a consortium of companies (Irby is a Quanta subsidiary PWR:NYSE)) and , the work scope included the removal and reconstruction of lattice towers, several major river crossings, micro pile foundation installation (and helicopter support), fiber splicing and testing, blasting, and lead abatement. Completed in May 2015, the project met all contractual milestone, outage, and completion dates.
