In recent years, persistent seasonal flood conditions in and around Hays County, Texas have impacted operations at the (“LCRA”) Canyon Substation. In March 2018, LCRA contracted Irby to perform flood remediation works including the installation of a new control house and the replacement of 138kV breakers at the substation. The project involved significant coordination with client and subcontract teams to perform the rehabilitation works within constricted work areas and to a condensed LCRA outage schedule.
The Irby scope included foundation and control building construction (supported by and ), panel removal and relocations, pulling and termination of control cable, and installation of a microwave tower. All works were completed to the LCRA outage schedule with zero lost time incidents.
