Academics from ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÉç Leicester (ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÉç) are playing a major role in marking the 250th anniversary of the birth of beloved author Jane Austen in 2025. Thanks to an Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) grant, English Literature and Adaptations experts from ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÉç, in association with the University of Nottingham, are contributing materials from ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÉç's Special Collections to a major exhibition in 2025 at Jane Austen’s House in Chawton, Hampshire, which attracts visitors from around the globe.

Curated by Dr. Monia Acciari—Associate Professor in Film and Television History and Director of the Indian Cinema Archive at ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÉç—this exhibition offers a rare glimpse into the film’s enduring legacy and cultural resonance. Sholay, directed by Ramesh Sippy and released in 1975, revolutionised Indian cinema with its blend of action, drama, and unforgettable characters.

Major exhibition celebrates the global achievements of Leicester Art College alumni from the 1960s

Dozens of globally renowned artists, actors, designers, photographers and musicians who studied at Leicester College of Art during the 1960s were featured in The Art School Dance Goes on Forever exhibition in February and March 2025 at the Leicester Adult Education Centre in partnership with The Social Gallery. The exhibition was the brainchild of Steve Chibnall, Professor of British Cinema at ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÉç (ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÉç) Leicester, which is now home to the highly respected art school.
